Medals For Tognazzo, Hew,Mutomba & Somerville On Day 2 In Toronto
Isabella Tognazzo, Lauren Hew, Zororo Mutomba and Matthew Somerville struck medals on Day 2 of the Mega City Meet in Toronto.
Isabella, swimming with confidence from her podium places on Day 1, raced to victory in the 14yrs 200m backstroke with 2:38.61 but it was her 1:05.70 silver medal in the 100m freestyle which gave her most satisfaction as this was a new CARIFTA Qualifying Time.
Lauren Hew narrowly missed the 100m backstroke CARIFTA time with a superb lifetime best of 1:12.62 but then rallied in the 100m 13yrs 100m freestyle to take bronze in 1:06.09.
Zororo Mutomba powered her way to the 10yrs& under 100m freestyle title (1:13.81) and placed 4th in the 100m breaststroke with 1:44.27
Matthew Somerville took bronze in the 11/12yrs 50m backstroke (37.37) with teammate Ed Weber finishing 7th in 39.30.
Ben Somerville and Dylan Lewis placedd 4th & 5th respectively in the 10yrs& under 50m backstroke; Ben in 43.15 and Lewis in 43.60
