Conor Dwyer Takes 400m Sea Swim Title
Olympic gold medallist, Conor Dwyer, was unfazed by the reputation of Alex "the Giant Killer" McCallum as he dominated the 400m event at the Care Pharmarcy Sea Swim.
Having noted the press coverage from the Pirates Week 5km where McCallum pipped Olympic 5km Champion Oussami Melouli at the post ( Dwyer even sent a copy of the article to his friend!), he was determined not to make the same mistake.
A powerful opening 50m gave him an unassailable lead and saw him win in an outstanding open water time of 4mins 15 seconds, Alex McCallum finishing 2nd and British Olympian, Caitlin McClatchey taking 3rd.
World Record Holder, Liam Tancock, opted for the 200m event and looked impressive as he won his first ever open water event.
Great racing from all....
well done!
