The GOOD TIMES Continue To Roll In Jamaica

 
The Medals, Records, CARIFTA Times and Lifetime Best Performances just keep coming in Jamaica....there's something special happening out there!!

Sarah Jackson powered her way to gold and an improved CARIFTA time of 38.70 in the girls 11/2yrs 50m breaststroke, Kavanagh Lambert taking silver (39.42), Stefanie Boothe 4th (40.88), Ella Plunkett 6th (42.19) and Sammie Rowland 7th ( (42.55)..yes, that's 5 of our swimmers in the Top 8! In the boys 11/12yrs 50m breast Alex Dakers proved to be a "pocket rocket"; his bronze medal winning swim of 41.43 being a new CARIFTA time; Eddie Weber finished 8th in 44.04.

Corey Westerborg picked up another gold medal in impressive style in the 8yrs & U 50m backstroke (45.55) with Stefano Bonati making it a Cayman 1-2 by clinching silver (50.96)

Isabella Tognazzo took silver in the 13/14yrs girls in 39.88 with Katie Klein 4th (41.45) whilst Danielle Boother produced an outstanding 35.65 to lift the 15/17yrs 50m breaststroke title.

Samantha Bailey once again swam a smooth & controlled race to take silver in the 11/12yrs 400m freestyle (5:15.23) with Eddie Weber, fresh from his outstanding 200m freestyle from yesterday, popped in fine 5:23.38 400m freestyle to take bronze and another CARIFTA time in the 11/12yrs boys event.

Ashley Theaker, racing with renewed confidence, looked impressive as she lifted the 13/14yrs 400m freestyle title in 5:01.96: Lauren Hew taking silver in 5:07.14 and Katie Klein bronze in 5:08.79....yes a Cayman 1-2-3!!

Bethany Cleaver raced to a silver medal in the 15.17yrs event with a 5:19.09.

Avery Lambert and Ali Jackson each broke CIAS records as they struck gold in the 50m backstroke events; Avery taking the 8yrs & under (46.77) and Ali the 9/10yrs (38.25). Carmella Ylagan (3rd), Maeve Andersen (5th) and Amber Barnes (7th) supported Avery in the 8yrs & under event whilst Zororo Mutomba placed behind Al in the 9/10 yrs age group.

Not to be outdone, Zachary Moore sprinted to gold in the 9/10yrs boys 50m backstroke (40.38) with teammate Jordan Crooks in 4th (42.88)

Cole Morgan and Coral Tomascik produced golden swim in the 13/14yrs boys and 15/17 girls 100m backstroke events; Cole going 1:07.44 and Coral 1:12.25. Sam Bailey added a silver to her collection with a 1:17.53 11/12yrs 100m backstroke (Ella Plunkett 4th in 1:20.68) whilst Lauren Hew popped in a very nice 1:15.55 100m backstroke to claim silver in the 13/14yrs event.
