Swimmers Hit PB Trail Yet Again..and Stephanie Smashes CIASA Records

Cayman swimmers once again delivered a host of lifetime best performances at the Pete Ribbins Memorial Short Course Meet held at The Lions Pool.

Stephanie Royston,pictured modelling Liam Tancock's World Gold Medal, smashed the CIASA 8yrs& U 100m buterfly record with a 1:54.97 and the 8yrs & U 200m freestyle record of 3:33.58.....FAST SWIMMING!

Kavanagh Lambert put together a smooth 100m butterfly of 1:14.87 to take the 13/14yrs title; Stefanie Boothe also swam under 1:20 to take gold in the 11/12yrs in a fine  1:18.21.

Eddie Weber and Matthew Somerville backed up their fine swims for the previous week in Jamaica but going 1-2 in the 11/12yrs 400m freestyle; Eddie taking the title in 5:16.10 and Matthew 2nd in 5:19.60. The roles were reversed in the 200m freestyle; Matthew taking gold in 2:28.00 and Eddie silver in 2:30.11....Matthew also sprinted to gold in the 50m freestyle with a lifetime best of 29.96.

Lauren Hew outsprinted teammate Isabella Tognazzo to take the 13/14yrs 50m freestyle title (30.32 to 30.53) whilst Ashley Theaker swam confidently to take the 400m freestyle in 4:55.92.

Cole Morgan continued to make fine progress with a win 27.72 victory in the 13/14yrs 50m freestyle; Matthew Courtis (25.80) touching out Alex Mccallum (26.02) in the 15/17yrs sprint.

Coral Tomascik combined power technique to take the girls 15/17yrs 50m free.

Danielle Boothe, using the weekend as a FAST training meet, competed in an array of events;her 200m backstroke swim of 2:27.57 being particularly impressive; Coral Tomascik place 2nd in this event in 2:29.81.
