5 Medal Haul On Day 2 At CARIFTA

 
Cayman swimmers took 5 medals on the second night of competition in Jamaica.

Samantha Bailey opened the proceedings with a well earned bronze in the 11/12ys 100m backstroke before Coral Tomascik raced to bronze in the 15/17yrs 100m backstroke.

Geoffrey Butler, fresh from his victory in the 1500m freesyle, powered his way to a bronze medal in the 15/17yrs 200m freestyle and then demonstrated his versatility with a silver medal in the 400m IM.

Kavanagh Lambert swam a well paced race to take bronze in the 11/12yrs 400m IM.

The team missed narrowly missed 3 other medals and had to be content with 4th placings; these came from Cole Morgan in the 13/14yrs 100m backstroke, Lauren Hew in the 13/14yrs 100m backstroke and Stefanie Boothe in the 11/12yrs 50m butterfly.

Only half way through the meet and the team has already matched the 2012 medal count and surpassed the number of finalists.
