Cayman Close Out Pool Swimming With Another 4 Medals
Cayman swimmers finished their pool campaign in style by taking 4 medals on the closing session.
Geoffrey Butler swam a superbly paced race to take silver in the 15/17yrs 400m freestyle in a lifetime best of 4:08.60 before Kavanagh Lambert dug deep to take bronze in the 11/12yrs breaststroke ( 1:22.46)
Lauren Hew then put in the swim of her life to lead the 13/14yrs 200m backstroke from start to finish; her gold medal winning swim bing a lifetime best of 2:31.73.
Cole Morgan stepped up to the plate with a silver medal in the 13/14yrs 200m backstroke in another lifetime best of 2:18.30.
Another gold nearly came Cayman's way when Samantha Bailey touched first on the 11/12yrs 200m bakckstroke (2:37.84) but unfortunately a disqualification also occurred for a technical infringement at the finish.
The Cayman Team excelled in the pool over the 4 day meet; taking 12 medals (including 3 GOLD), 19 indiviudal finalists, 9 relay finalists and finishing 10th in the Top Team Medals Rankings.
