Cayman Gold Rush In St Pete
Session 4 of the SPA Open in St. Petersburgh saw a Cayman Gold Rush.
Alison Jackson opened the proceedings with a Golden swim in the 9/10yrs 100m freestyle (1:12.02) before a hat trick of back to back wins in the breaststroke events: Sarah Jackson taking the 11/12yrs 100m in a new National Record of 1:26.37; Alex Dakers winning the boys 11/12yrs in 1:30.37 and Alison Jackon taking the 9/10yrs in a new CIASA & National Record of 1:34.87.
Alison Jackson finished the sesssion as she began...a GOLD in the 9/10yrs 50m backstroke in 38.58.
These winning swims were supported by outstanding medal winning performances.
Samantha Bailey narrowly missed the CIASA record with a bronze medal performance of 1:06.60 in the 11/12yrs 100m freestyle; she went on to take silver in the 11/12yrs 50m backstroke (34.93). Teammate Stefanie Boothe also took a pair of medals, bronze in the 11/12yrs 100m breaststroke (1:28.26) and bronze in the 11/12yrs 100m butterfly (1:15.16)
Alex Dakers raced to silver in the 11/12yrs 100m butterfly (1:19.40) whilst Holly Stradling and Liam Sinclair took bronze medals in the 9/10yrs 100m butterfy with 1:33.84 and 1:42.00 respectively
