Island Games Swimmers Progress To Day 2 Finals
Cayman Swimmers progressed comfortably from prelims to finals on Day 2 of the Island Games in Bermuda.
Brett and Shaune Fraser qualified as 2nd & 3rd fastest respectively for the 100m butterfly final; Brett going 54.49 and Shaune 55.23.
Lara Butler, fresh from yesterday's medal winning and record breaking exploits, went 1:06.71 in the 100m backstroke (PB) to qualify for the final in 7th spot; she then went on to make the finals of the 200m IM in 5th place wiith a 2:25.84.
The Men's 4 x 50m freestyle relay qualified as 2nd fastest for the final in 1:37.84; the split times being Brett Fraser 22.67, Shaune Fraser 23.97, Alex McCallum 25.15, Geoffrey Butler 26.05.
Coral Tomascik swam to a lifetime best of 1:08.43 in the 100m backstroke to place 11th whilst Geoffrey Butler, still receovering from last night's 1500m freestyle effort, went 1:57.60 to finish 11th in the 200m freestyle.
Looks like another fine night of racing for the Cayman Team
