Lauren Closes Canadian Nationals With 50m Fly

Cayman's Lauren Hew closed out her Canadian Natonal Age Groups with a 31.98 50m butterfly to finish 27th in the 13yrs category.

Lauren, winner of the 200m backstroke at the 2013 CARIFTA Championships and bronze medallist in the 50m backstroke at the Canadian National Age Group Championships in a new CIASA Record of 32.19, has handled the travelling and exposure to different training/competition exceedingly well and this bodes well for the future.

Lauren is already honing in on the Qualifying Times for next year's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China, and he CAC Games in Veracruz. Mexico (see National Teams section for QT's).

Great job from Lauren over the season in general, and the past 5 days in particularly, ... she now has plenty to aim for under the direction of new Head Coach Brad Hutton..

Let's Go Lauren!
