Ruta Narrowly Misses World Record In Prelims

 
16yr old Ruta Meilutyte, the Olympic Champion and traininng partner of Geoff & Lara Butler (yes, the Cayman Connection!), gave her rivals an early morning wake up call with a 1:04.52 100m breaststroke effort in the prelims at the World Swimmng Championships in Barcelona.

The time, a new European & Championship Record, is only 7 one hundredths shy of the World Record...
