Lara & Geoffrey Butler Hit The Water In Sheffield

Lara and Geoffrey Butler took to the magic of waters of Ponds Forge Pool, Sheffield to open their accounts at the ASA National Youth & Senior Championships.

Lara, the medals machine from the Island Games in Bermuda, took on the 200m IM and swam to within 1 second of her CIASA Record. Opening with a smooth 30 secs 50m butterfly she looked relaxed over the first half of the race but the telltale breaststroke leg took it's toll...her final time being 2:27.00.

Geoffrey, the medals machine from CARIFTA and Island Games, raced the 400m freestyle this morning. Geoff opened with a 2:01. for the first half and finished in a time of 4:10.53; just shy of his lifetime best of 4:08.
