Lara is Agonisingly Close
Lara Butler improved on her prelims time and set a new lifetime best in the semi final of the 200m butterfly at the ASA National Championships but narrowly missed the elusive target of a Commonwealth Games Qualifying Time.
A controlled first 100m and a much better 3rd 50m saw Lara within striking distance of the time; only the closing stages seeing her tie up slightly, Lara's time was 2:22.21, only 0.34 outside the required time.
Lara finished the finals session in style with a personal best relay split of 2:09.94 in Plymouth Leander 4 x 200m freestyle team.
Now firmly on the PB Trail and swimming with renewed confidence, Lara is looking forward to her new training base at Loughborough University and is in no doubt a sub 2:20 200m butterly is in the offing
Well Done Lara!
