Meilutyte and Ledecky Set More World Records

Only 16yrs of age but mature beyond their years, Ruta Meilutyte and Katie Ledecky once again shifted the boundaries of global standards.

Ruta, having already set a World Record and won the World title in the 100m breaststroke, exploded off the blocks in the semi final of the 50m breaststroke to smash the World Record with an awe inspiring time of 29.48.

Katie Ledecky, Gold Medallist in the 400m freestyle and 1500m freestyle, set her second World Record of the Championships with an 8:13.86 800m freestyle; Denmark's Lotte Friis took silver (8:16.32) and New Zealand's Lauren Boyle took Bronze (8:18.58)

Missy Franklin (USA) continued her winning ways by lifting the 200m backstroke title in 2:04.76 whilst Jeanette Ottesen Gray (Den) powered her way to victory in the 50m butterfly (15.24)

Chad Le Clos (South Africa), the Phelps Slayer, came back very strong over the closing stage of the 100m butterfly to take Gold in 51.06 while Cesar Cielo (Brazil) took the 50m freesyle in 21.32.

One more day of FAST SWIMMING to come!

We Love It!
