Dear National Federation Leaders, Dear Friends,

It gives me great pleasure to invite your participation in the first UANA Swimming Cup, to be presented in Coral Springs, Florida (USA) on January 19-21, 2018.

For many years, UANA has hosted important championships in water polo, synchronized swimming, diving, and open water swimming – but not swimming!

It is now the appropriate time to introduce a new event, with a new concept, so that we can provide opportunities for athletes to qualify for important regional, continental, and global competitions, including:

+  2018 Central American and Caribbean Games (Colombia)

+  2018 South American Games (Bolivia)

+  2018 Youth Olympic Games (Argentina)

+  2019 Pan American Games (Peru)

The UANA Cup will feature a dual meet between the twelve National Federation members of CONSANAT and the twenty-eight National Federation members of CCCAN, with athletes scoring points for their regional associations. The rivalries created by this concept will undoubtedly bring spirit and enthusiasm, as well as outstanding performances in the pool.

I thank all of the many dedicated individuals, especially CCCAN President Felix Calderon, CONSANAT President Juan Carlos Orihuela, and the UANA Technical Swimming Commission, comprised of Sonia O’Neal, Raul Arraya, Jay Thomas, and Bill Hogan for their extraordinary commitment and vision. Special appreciation is also extended to Gregory Eggert, UANA Director, for his dedication to help launch this new event.

I look forward to welcoming you to the United States in January 2018 and hope very much that you will support this significant opportunity for UANA athletes!

All best wishes,

Dale Neuburger
UANA President
