Important - CIASA Certification/Membership for officials

Attention CIASA Officials

It is time for officials to renew their CIASA membership/certification.  Anyone who is currently shadowing also needs to register.   

Officials who are part of a family membership remain exempt from fees (you will need to provide details).  You will be pleased to know that those officials who historically paid for individual membership no longer have to pay.  The CIASA Board of Directors has generously agreed to waive membership fees for all registered officials. 

We have also dispensed with the traditional paper forms. The forms can be found on the CIASA website which you can complete and email back to the Tech Committee (CIASATech@gmail.com).  Both the application form and Code of Conduct agreement must be filled out and returned.  We accept an electronic (typed) signature.  The electronic application forms have the advantage that you no longer need to track down referees to sign your forms. Please note that there is are dropdown options for some boxes on the form, e.g. if it is a new application or renewal.  

For pool CT, J1 and above - If you have officiated at a pool meet during the past 12 months we will have a record of this so you need not worry about hunting down your logbooks.  

For Pool Timers and Open Water officials, please include details of the last 3 meets you have officiated at on the form.  We plan to expand our electronic record system for these groups going forward.  

You are all reminded to review the minimum requirements for your respective levels (see attached document) and ensure you are compliant in order to maintain your status.  If you fall short of the requirements please let me know and we can give you an extension and try to find a suitable meet for you to get your sessions in.  

Deadline for submissions of the forms is Sunday 8th October.  

We will be issuing new CIASA ID badges soon.  If you would rather not spend time and money on getting a passport photograph then take a (professional looking) selfie and email it to CIASATech@gmail.com.  

We will be sending out information about new shirts shortly.

Please also let us know if you are interested in moving up to the next level of official - we are happy to provide training to anyone interested in progressing.
