The 27th World University Games open in Kazan, Russia tomorrow. The Games ls last from 6th July until the 17th July: the SWIMMING starting on the 10th July. Cayman Swim Visitor, Caitlin McClatchey will be competing and we will keep you posted of results. Enjoy!

Alex McCallum swam the race of his life at the St Petersburg Aquatics Meet to secure a place in the prestigious Loughborough University Swim Squad. Swimming in the 400m freestyle, Alex went through the first 200m in a lifetime best of 2:05. and finished the race witha huge lifetime best performance of 4:17.42; some 4 seconds+ inside the time required for the University's National Development Squad, In Jamaica last December Alex also achieved the qualifying standard but the times had to be done after January 1st. He is now able...

Camana Bay Aquatic Club and Stingray are to compete at the St.Petersburg Aqautics Meet his weekend. CBAC will travel to the meet tomorrow as will Stingray who are currently on training camp in Sarasota. This will be the last Long Course Meet of the season and CIASA/National Records are certainly under threat! Watch out for FASTTTTT SWIMMING!!

Christopher Courtis made the finals of the 200m IM on the first day of CCCAN which is being held in Costa Rica; his time of 2:20.27 placing him 6th. He went on to finish 11th in the 100m back (1:05.65) and 9th in the 50m back (29.21). Dr. Sook Yin, pictured with husband Brian, recently received the MBE from Prince Charles. Dr Yin has been the Medical Office for Cayman Swimming for many years and recently attended the London 2012 Olympics in this capacity. In addition, she has been heavily involved in a huge number of initiatives which have positvely affected the lifestyle and health of the Cayman Community. This is a great honour and richly deserved. Congratulations from all at Cayman Swimming!

Applications for the position of Technical Director have now closed. The Search Committee will now look through the abundant number of applicants to form a shortlist. The process to find a suitable replacement is currently on track.

Twenty Seven swimmers have been selected to represent Great Britain at the forthcoming World Championships which are to be held in Barcelona at the end of July. There's no place for defending 50m backstroke champion, Liam Tanock, nor Marco Loughran or Daniel Slewinski...all of whom did the Quaifying Time.
