Alison and Sarah Jackson were once again on the records and medals trail at the Sharks Open Meet in Sarasota. Ali raced to a bronze medal in the 9/10yrs 50m breaststroke with a new CIASA & National Record Time of 42.90; she also set new CIASA and National figures in the 9.10yrs 50m butterfy of 37.65 when taking 5th place. Alison Jackson, fresh from setting multiple records at the recent Caledonian Meet, continud this form at the Sharks Open Long Course Meet in Sarasota Florida. Cayman Swim Star, Lara Butler, has returned home to prepare for the forthcoming Island Games which are being held in Bermuda 13th - 19th July. Lara, currently based at Plymouth College in the UK, has recently completed her "A" Levels and, depending on results, will take up a place at Loughborough University this September. Great to have Lara back in the house!

Justin Lynch just set a new USA Boys 16yrs record for the 100m butterfly (long course) 0f 52.75. His progressions of times has been: 13yrs 58.29 14yrs 54.80 15yrs 53.74 16yrs 52.75 Impressive swimming! Of course, swimmers progress at differing rates an not all young proteges progress to the senior ranks..... BUT sometimes it's best to take it when it's there. Fast Swimming We Love It!

Stingray Swim Club travel to Sarasota tomorrow to compete in the Sharks Open Meeet. The Cayman Islands Olympic Committee (CIOC) held it's annual Olympic Day at Public Beach on Sunday 23rd June. Several different sports participated in the day, giving demonstrations of their activities. Cayman Swimming set up a mini Open Water course and a good time was had by all.
