Caeleb Dressel set a new USA 15/16yrs 100m freestyle long course record of 49.63 on the opening day of the World Swimming Trials in Indiannapolis. He set this time in the Prelims and made finals. His previous best was 50.85. In the women's 200m butterfly 13yr old Cassidy Bayer went 2:11.44. Now....that's FAST SWIMMING! SO...you can certainly achieve your own personal goal times.... Christopher Courtis will represent Barbados at the forthcoming CCAN. The meet will be held in San Jose, Costa Rica from 1st-5th July and Christopher will be looking to make his mark in the backstroke events. Cayman Masters were in fine form at the recent Caledonian Invitational Meet which was held at the Lions Pool. The World Masters Championships will be held in Montreal in 429 days time so increasing numbers are now focusing on the required Qualifying Standards. Stefano Bonati, Finn Bishop and Amber Barnes were in record breaking form during the final session of the Caledonian Meet. Stefano looked impressive as he raced his way to a new CIASA Records in the 8yrs & Under category with a 1:40.57 in the 100m backstroke, 45.46 in the 50m backstroke and a 3:28.14 200m freestyle whilst Finn demonstrated his all round versatility with a 1:40.17 to set new CIASA figures in the 8yrs & Under 100m IM. Amber employed her smooth and efficient technique to set new National figures...

Swimmers should ideally have training goggles and racing goggles (just as they have separate training suits and racing suits) Many swimmers choose to race in Swedish Goggles, they are quite basic,come in kit form, have no rubber around the eye sockets and can be a little uncomfortable BUT they are a tight fit and are fine for the duration of a race.
