Cayman Swmming visitor, Oussama Mellouli (pictured surveying the course at the Pirates 5km), has been named as the Tunisian Sportsman of the year. Ouss, the Olympic 10km Champion and bronze medallist in the 1500m freestyle,received the accolade from the Tunisian News Agency.

Ali Jackson demonstrated her versatilty with an outstanding swim in the 9/10yrs 100m IM at the Stingray Sprint Meet Plus. From a well executed start, Ali led from the outset, setting a new CIASA record of 1:23.70. Great Swimming!

The rush of PB's and CARIFTA times continued on Day 2 of the Sprint Meet Plus. Samantha Bailey (11/12yrs) swam a well paced race in the 400m freestyle to post a CARIFTA time of 5:07.1; this coming after an outstanding 1:05.92 100m freestyle whilst Sarah Jackson (11/12yrs) continued her excellent progress in the breaststroke events with 38.62 in the 50m event and a 1:28.78 in the 100m. Ella Plunkett, buoyed by her outstanding Individual Medley swim from the previous day, finished strongly in the 200m backstroke to set an improved...

An abundance of lifetime best performances was on the menu on Day 1 of the Stingray Sprint Meet Plus. In amongst the array of fine swims were a few new CARIFTA qualifying times: In the 11/12yrs girls Sam Bailey stormed to a 29.7 50m freestyle with Sarah Jackson filling 2nd spot in 30.2, Sam then went on to pop in an outstanding 2:38. 200m backstroke. Ella Plunkett added a new event to her list with a 10 second drop in the 200m IM: her 2:50.7 being well inside the required...
