Cayman Swim Star, Lara Butler (pictured with brother Geoff), is visiting Loughborough University this weekend. Lara, having received offers from several UK Universities for September 2013, has decided to spend a few days in the world renowned programme to test the waters and see if it's the place to base her swimsuit and goggles. Cayman Swimmers are being treated to a host of racing opportunities over the coming weeks. The series kicks off with the Stingray Sprint Meet (including 200m events) on Saturday/Sunday 2nd/3rd February and is followed by the first of the CBAC Open Water Series (400m sea swim) on Saturday 9th February. Teams then head off island for some FASTTTT long course racing at the Walter Rogers Meet in Jamaica before hitting the waters of the Lions Pool for the Pete Ribbins/CWC Meet on 21/22/23 February. Andy Copley has been officially introduced to the media as the new Stingray Head Coach. Coach Andy has been doing an outstanding job building the programme over the past 6 months and can now look forward to a secure position with the club. The swimmers can also look forward to a consistent and sustained programme under the direction of a committed coach. Cayman swimmer, Brandon Williams, is a man of many sporting talents and a iron man to boot! At the weekend he combined with Mitch Smith and Chadwick Webster to form the Untried & Untested Team which went on to win the team event at the Mercury 2013 Half Iron Man Triathlon Competition. Williams emerged from the swim in 2nd place (31 mins 37secs) whilst Smith won the bike section (2hr 14mins 01secs) and Webster finished off with a 2nd place run(1hr:31mins.1secs) to see the team lift the Top Team Trophy....
