Mrs Helen Kilpatrick has been announced as the new Governor of the Cayman Islands. Stingray Swim Club will host the Caledonian Global Swim Meet at the Lions Pool as from tomorrow. This is the final on island meet of the season and local swimmers are up and ready to go. Fast Swimming Here We Come!!

Joe Pedraza and Jordan Wilimovsky batted it out yet again over 10km at the Flowers Sea Swim held off Seven Mile Beach. Swimming stroke for stroke over the 2 lap rectangular 5km course, the race came down to the wire as the swimmers entered the finishing chute, a battle royale ensuing during the final 6 strokes.....Pedraza emerging victorious by a mere 0.3 seconds! This great race echoed and reflected the finish from Saturday's One Mile Race where Pedraza took the title and a new course record by 0.5 seconds. Jordan...

2012 Olympian, Zsofi Balazs (pictured left), completed the double at the Flowers Sea Swims by taking the Women's 10km title. Having already won the 1 Mile in style, Zsofi took control of the 10km race from the outset to lift the title by almost 4 minutes from fellow Canadian Nadine Williams; former Olympic Gold Medallist, Brooke Bennett, finishing 3rd. Olympic Silver Medallist, Haley Anderson, stamped her authority on the Women's 5km, finishing ahead of Luanne Rowe and Megan Jendrick. Great Job Ladies!.

David Ebanks took Gold and Silver at the British Masters Long Course Championships with record breaking times. The meet, held in Plymouth, saw David open his account with a silver medal in the 30-34 yrs 100m breaststroke in 1:08.80 before powering his way to gold in the 50m breaststroke in 29.80; both swims being new Senior CIASA and National Records...the latter being inside the time required to be considered for Commonwealth Games 2014 selection. John Atkinson, Canada's National High Performance Director, arrives today to take in the location and organisation of the 5km/10km Sea Swim. John (pictured here with Prince Harry at the London Paralympics) is visiting Cayman to explore the possibility of using it as a base for Canada's Open Water Camps and Competitions.
