His Excellency, Duncan Taylor, recently hosted a breakfast invitation swim for his swimming colleagues.... a 4km+ social swim from West Bay Dock to Governor's Beach. Duncan has been a great supporter of Cayman Swimming (the Sea Swims in particular) and we all wish him well when he takes up his new post in Mexico. Good Luck for the future from Cayman Swimming!
CARIFTA finalist, Ella Plunkett, dusted herself off after yesterday's slight blip, got back in the saddle and finished her Irish Age Group Nationals campaign in PB style. As a mark of developing versatility she swam to a lifetime best of 2:48.21 in the 100m IM before powering her way to a 30.81 50m freestyle. Now that's what we like to see! Well Done Ella!
Ella Plunkett swam just outside her lifetime best performances in the 50m & 200m backstroke at the irish National Age Group Championships held in Dublin. Having already PB'd in the 50m breaststroke, 50m butterfly and 100m backstroke, Ella was looknig to improve on the times she posted at the recent St.Petersburg Meet. However, she fell slightly short with a 36.06 50m backstroke and 2:41.05 200m backstroke. Ella has made huge strides over the past season but as a perfectionist will be be slightly disappointed not to have moved on one...
