Cayman's Ella Plunkett kept her PB record alive when swimming to a 34.47 50m Butterfly at the Irish National Age Group Championships in Dublin. Ella, primarily known for her backstroke, is now develping nicely on all strokes and putting together a very competitive individual medley. Well Done Ella!

On a night which confirmed Cayman Swimming as an emerging powerhouse, Geoffrey and Lara Butler headlined the show. Swimming in the 400m freestyle, Geoffrey stalked his prey over 15 laps of the 16 lap race, coming from a body length behind to snatch gold in a new CIASA Record Time of 3:56.91....his first time under 4 minutes and a huge 10 second lifetime best. Cayman Swimmers continued to "do the business" on Day 4 (the final day) of the Island Games in Bermuda. Lara Butler is obviously still putting rocket fuel on her breakfast cereal as she raced to 4 Finals and a CIASA Record! Starting with the 100m IM, Lara qualified as 4th fastest (1:07.49) for the final, she then went on to qualify as fastest for the 200m butterfly final (2:21.98), next came the 100m freestyle where she set a new CIASA Record of 59.09 to make through to the fina in...
Cayman's Ella Plunkett raced to two lifetime best performances at the Irish Age Group Long Course Championships being held at the National Aquatic Centre in Dublin. Ella gained familiarity with the meet by opening with a 40,90 50m breastroke before swimming to a 1:15.82 100m backstroke. Always good for a young swimmer to cope with travelling, training with a different team and being able to swim lifetime bests. Well Done Ella and here's to some other fine swims later in the meet.
It was a case of JOB WELL DONE for Cayman swimmers in this morning's preliminaries at the Island Games. Olympians and Pan Am medallists, Shaune and Brett Fraser, cruised through to the final of the 100m freestyle in 49.68 and 50,56; these times placing them 1st and 3rd into the final. They went on the go through as 1st and 2nd in the 50m butterfly; Brett at 24.09 and Shaune at 24.37. It was Boom! Boom! time for Brett and Shaune Fraser as they lit up the pool at the Island Games in Bermuda. Going head to head in the 100m freestyle and 50m butterfly they obliterated the opposition and both swam inside new Island Games Records. However, it was Brett who had the midas touch this time, taking the 100m freestyle title in 47.65 ahead of Shaune on 47,79 and the 50m butterfly on 23.26 ahead of Shaune's silver on 23.44.....Brett's time of 23.26 also being a new CIASA Record. Imagine...
